Sephora Reveal The Real Foundation | Review

With the recent opening of Sephora in Birmingham's Bullring, I couldn’t resist browsing their app on Boxing Day and ended up treating myself to a small haul. One of the items I purchased was the Sephora Collection Reveal the Real skin tint after seeing a few positive reviews on YouTube.

I opted for shade 100N Fair, the lightest shade within the Fair range. However, I was disappointed by the shade range overall. For a brand like Sephora, which offers a variety of shades in their Best Skin Ever Foundation, the limited options for this product felt like a step backward in my opinion.

I took this picture the morning after applying fake tan so don't take note of the shade match here. With no fake tan on this is a great match for me.

I've tried this product twice now, once with primer and once without. Both times I've hated it. I couldn't get it to blend in the centre of my face. As you can see in the pictures below it was separating on my nose and forehead and it sat in my pores. I did half my face with a brush and the other half with my hands and no matter how much I blended with the brush, all I could see was brush strokes. It was far better applied with hands but it was clinging to the hairs on my face.

I just couldn't get it to work for me. I even tried layering it with concealer and powder in an effort to salvage it, but it just didn't look good. Both times, I had to remove it and fall back on my fave Lumene CC cream. Unfortunately, this skin tint was a complete miss for me, I didn't seem to get the same finish as the girlies on YouTube so it's not one I'd recommend if you don't have perfect skin.

Update: This product went in the bin.
